{"id":270127,"date":"2023-05-24T06:05:12","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T05:05:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=270127"},"modified":"2023-05-24T06:05:12","modified_gmt":"2023-05-24T05:05:12","slug":"ekiti-court-ends-pastors-marriage-over-domestic-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/05\/24\/ekiti-court-ends-pastors-marriage-over-domestic-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"Ekiti court ends pastor\u2019s marriage over domestic violence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One Oni Muyiwa, a pastor, and his wife, Madam Alabi Adejoke in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/05\/22\/ekiti-man-nabbed-for-defiling-7-year-old-stepdaughter\/\">Ekii state<\/a> have gone their separate ways after 3 years of being married. <\/p>\n<p>Their separation followed the dissolution of their marriage by an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court, over domestic violence and threats to life.<\/p>\n<p>Muyiwa, a pastor of one of the new generation churches and a health worker, is known to be a serial divorcee who manipulates women\u2019s wealth to his advantage.<\/p>\n<p>The President of the Court, Mr. J.O Oyedele, ordered that both parties go their separate ways without disturbing each other.<\/p>\n<p>Oyedele described Muyiwa, who&#8217;s the respondent, as a liar whose answers couldn&#8217;t be relied upon for judgement. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe respondent is hereby restrained from going to the petitioner\u2019s house after he might have taken all his belongings out of the house.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe custody of the only child of the association is hereby awarded to the petitioner and the respondent shall have access to the child.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court hereby ordered that the Toyota Camry car under the custody of the respondent is to be collected immediately and same given to the petitioner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court hereby declared that the house 3 bedroom flat being, lying and situates behind School of the Handicap belongs to the petitioner absolutely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court hereby declared that the two plots of land being, lying and situates at Idolofin community land belongs to the petitioner and family receipt is hereby ordered to be issued in the name of the petitioner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Madam Ajejoke had approached the court through her counsel, Iyanu Olumuagun on October 11, 202,2 seeking dissolution of the marriage, and that the respondent be ordered to leave her house, also that the respondent to return all her properties.<\/p>\n<p>During cross-examination, it was discovered that the respondent cannot be trusted and whose testimonies were full of lies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith all the answers given by the respondent shows he is a liar and his evidence cannot be relied on: why could the respondent deny knowing a woman who gave birth to his first son, known as Oni Samuel Okikiola? Why will he also deny knowing Modupe, his first wife?\u201d The court said.<\/p>\n<p>However, the defendant said the petitioner did not have any car but he acquired the car while cohabiting with her.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant informed the court that it was not true that only the petitioner was responsible for education and the welfare of the child.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One Oni Muyiwa, a pastor, and his wife, Madam Alabi Adejoke in Ekii state have gone their separate ways after 3 years of being married.
