{"id":2731,"date":"2021-03-04T13:28:20","date_gmt":"2021-03-04T12:28:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=2731"},"modified":"2021-03-04T13:28:20","modified_gmt":"2021-03-04T12:28:20","slug":"babcock-varsity-reacts-to-viral-video-of-a-student-assaulting-another-over-slippers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/04\/babcock-varsity-reacts-to-viral-video-of-a-student-assaulting-another-over-slippers\/","title":{"rendered":"Babcock varsity reacts to viral video of a student assaulting another over slippers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Days after a video of a student assaulting another student over slippers surfaced online, the management of Babcock university has reacted to the viral video.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that there was an outrage on social media over a video of student&#8217;s physical assault on his colleague and the two students have not been identified yet.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the development, the\u00a0school&#8217;s Director of Marketing and Communications, Joshua Suleiman said in a statement made available to newsmen that the matter has been reported and would be investigated.<\/p>\n<p>It read;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-transform: initial\">\u201cThe attention of Babcock University Administration has been dawn to a recent video clip on social media showing a scuffle between two 100-level students of the institution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreliminary investigations revealed that the fight resulted from lack of restraint by a student who alleged his roommate of using his pair of slippers without his permission\/consent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith our zero tolerance for bullying, and physical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/03\/insecurity-we-need-more-prayers-says-ekiti-governor-fayemi\/\">violence<\/a> of any form, the university administration finds this conduct abominable and most unacceptable and is, therefore, taking appropriate steps to address it accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe university also condemns the conduct of the students who, rather than separating the two students fighting, and or reporting same to the authorities immediately, instead concentrated on video-recording the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an institution of conscientiousness,\u00a0Babcock University\u00a0will continue to create a safe, as well as upholds its values of mutual respect and peaceful co-existence among our students.
