{"id":273546,"date":"2023-06-11T14:37:36","date_gmt":"2023-06-11T13:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=273546"},"modified":"2023-06-11T14:41:51","modified_gmt":"2023-06-11T13:41:51","slug":"kanus-lawyer-reveals-three-countries-involved-in-ipob-leaders-detention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/06\/11\/kanus-lawyer-reveals-three-countries-involved-in-ipob-leaders-detention\/","title":{"rendered":"Kanu\u2019s Lawyer Reveals \u2018Three Countries\u2019 Involved In IPOB Leader\u2019s Detention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aloy Ejimakor, the legal representative of Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), claims that three countries, Kenya, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria, played a role in Kanu&#8217;s arrest and detention.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/05\/nnamdi-kanu-dont-take-our-calmness-for-granted-well-cripple-nigeria-ipob-threatens-buhari\/\"> Ejimakor<\/a> took to Twitter to address these allegations.<\/p>\n<p>He suggested that Kenya, which should have expressed regret, should have demanded Kanu&#8217;s return.<\/p>\n<p>He chastised the UK for failing to protect Kanu, who holds a British passport.<\/p>\n<p>Despite appeals to the British government of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, little progress was made in obtaining Kanu&#8217;s release.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer also chastised Nigeria for failing to follow its own laws.
