Senator Godwill Akpabio and Aziz Yari have been nominated for the position of Senate president as the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly commenced in Abuja.<\/p>\n

The Clerk of the Senate, Barr Chinedu Akabueze took roll call of Senators-elect.<\/p>\n

Senator Godswill Akpabio<\/a>, an All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker from Akwa Ibom North West and Senator Abdulaziz Yari from Zamfara North West, who is also of the APC, are the two contenders for the office of the number three citizen.<\/p>\n

Senator Ali Ndume from Borno South, nominated Akpabio while Senator Elisha Abbo from Adamawa North nominated Yari.<\/p>\n

No sooner than he nominated Yari than some lawmakers started protesting but Abbo stood his ground while shouting on top of his voice.<\/p>\n

He challenged those opposed to Yari\u2019s nomination to go to court.<\/p>\n
