{"id":27454,"date":"2021-04-29T07:25:06","date_gmt":"2021-04-29T06:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=27454"},"modified":"2021-04-29T07:25:06","modified_gmt":"2021-04-29T06:25:06","slug":"jusun-reprimands-lagos-chapter-over-partial-resumption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/29\/jusun-reprimands-lagos-chapter-over-partial-resumption\/","title":{"rendered":"JUSUN reprimands Lagos chapter over partial resumption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has stated that it will re-seal all courts in Lagos following information that the state chapter of the union has partially resumed activities.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that the Lagos chairman of JUSUN, Shobowale Kehinde on April 22 had stated that some of its workers in the state will be allowed to resume to enable the courts to clear backlogs of important cases.<\/p>\n<p>According to chairman of Lagos JUSUN chapter, the decision was based on the fact that the Lagos state government has shown interest in addressing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/24\/ngige-presents-striking-unions-demands-to-buhari\/\">JUSUN\u2019s demands<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, noted that work and official duties will be limited to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of every week.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the development, the JUSUN national treasurer, Jimoh Musa said the partial court reopening translates to going against the union in general.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast week, it happened like that. I had to travel to Lagos to make sure that the place was locked up. Surprisingly, today (Wednesday) we were called that the same thing was happening there again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t know what is wrong with that (Lagos) chairman; he doesn\u2019t have the capacity to do that. It is a NEC (national executive committee) decision. He alone cannot sit in Lagos and take that decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever the pressure is, he is supposed to come to the national body. NEC will sit and he will table his issues. If approved, fine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut as I\u2019m speaking to you now, we\u2019ve just finished a meeting. We have resolved that Lagos must be shut down if truly it is open today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have delegated some people to go there (Lagos), and all the south-west JUSUN will be against Lagos; that place must be shut down. This is our decision. It must be shut down.
