The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Kehinde Adesogba Adekusibe for allegedly threatening Igbos in the South West (Yoruba land).<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin, the suspect took to Twitter prior to his arrest to call for the killing of all southeasterners living in Yoruba land.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, tweeted the statement from his official account.<\/p>\n

The PPRO said the tweet violated the social media policy on hate speech<\/a>, hence, his arrest on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The statement reads, \u201cThe Osun Police Command has arrested one Kehinde Adesogba Adekusibe \u2018m\u2019 28years who violated the social media policy on hate speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could be recalled that, on 18th May, 2023, the suspect, Kehinde Adekusibe, on his Twitter handle, tweeted \u201cLet\u2019s kill all the Igbos. Let\u2019s flush them out of Yoruba lands. I hate these people with a passion. They are violent people. They are worst. They hate us. Let\u2019s hate them without holding back\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cImmediately the police command received the report, police detectives from the cybercrime section at SCID Osogbo swung into action and through intelligence-led investigation, the suspect was arrested at Ilesa, where he hibernated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect has confessed to the crime and he will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
