Gunmen suspected to be terrorists wreaking havoc in Nigeria’s middle belt have killed three persons in an attack on a mining site in Plateau state. <\/a><\/p>\n

The mining site was around Tanjol in Jol community of Riyom Local Government Area of the State.<\/p>\n

The incident happened around 11 a.m. on Friday, Mr Rwang Tengwong, the National Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Movement, a socio-cultural group, said. <\/p>\n

Tengwong, who confirmed the incident on Friday in Jos, said two other persons were injured.<\/p>\n

\u201dAt about 11 a.m., gunmen killed three persons and injured two others at a mining site in Tanjol area of Jol community of Riyom.<\/p>\n

\u201dThe injured persons are currently receiving treatment at a hospital within the locality,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Tengwong, who described the attack as one too many, called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts towards the safety of lives and property in rural communities.<\/p>\n

Mr Alfred Alabo, Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Plateau, did not pick up several calls to his line, but a top Police officer confirmed the attack<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
