{"id":276817,"date":"2023-06-28T08:22:40","date_gmt":"2023-06-28T07:22:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=276817"},"modified":"2023-06-28T08:22:40","modified_gmt":"2023-06-28T07:22:40","slug":"eid-al-adha-nigeria-needs-prayers-atiku-tells-muslims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/06\/28\/eid-al-adha-nigeria-needs-prayers-atiku-tells-muslims\/","title":{"rendered":"Eid al-Adha: Nigeria needs prayers, Atiku tells Muslims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has called on Nigerians to seek God&#8217;s blessings to elevate the country to a path of peace, harmony and prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>This was contained in a statement released by the former vice-president, Abubakar while<span class=\"s2\"> congratulating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/06\/12\/sharia-council-backs-el-rufai-on-muslims-domination-agenda-berates-can\/\">Muslims<\/a> on the Eid-el-Kabir festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">Abubakar said the significance of the celebration is about the \u201cprofitability of being patient with God in our affairs as human beings, and most especially, as Muslims\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He asked the Islamic faithful to take a lesson of forbearance from the \u201csacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim\u201d by being kind and generous to the people around them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThe scriptures of all prophets of Allah are replete with good examples of how they related with everyone during their lifetimes,\u201d Abubakar said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cWe are also enjoined to follow the footsteps of the prophets, especially Prophet Muhammad, which means that we must live our everyday life as a sacrifice, not just for our families, but the communities where we find ourselves.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The former vice president further asked Muslims in Nigeria to pray for the country at various Eid prayer grounds, saying, \u201cNigeria is currently in need of prayers. We must continue to ask God Almighty to show His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/05\/22\/speakership-we-have-kwankwasos-blessings-to-support-abbas-kalu-madaki\/\">blessings<\/a> upon the country and to elevate Nigeria to a path of peace, harmony, and prosperity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He also enjoined Muslims not to be extravagant but share the joy of the celebration with the needy.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has called on Nigerians to seek God&#8217;s blessings to elevate the country to a path of peace, harmony and prosperity.
