{"id":276956,"date":"2023-06-29T07:28:05","date_gmt":"2023-06-29T06:28:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=276956"},"modified":"2023-06-29T07:28:05","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T06:28:05","slug":"omo-agege-worked-for-obi-during-presidential-election-delta-apc-chieftains-allege","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/06\/29\/omo-agege-worked-for-obi-during-presidential-election-delta-apc-chieftains-allege\/","title":{"rendered":"Omo-Agege worked for Obi during presidential election, Delta APC chieftains allege"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the three senatorial districts in Delta state alleged that Ovie Omo-Agege worked against President Bola Tinubu during the last elections.<\/p>\n<p>Omo-Agege is the immediate past deputy president of the senate.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Onah, Delta north chair; Nelson Ogharama, Delta south chair; Michael Orunefe, Delta central chair; and Michael Inana, Delta APC secretary via a statement released on Wednesday said\u00a0Omo-Agege entered an alliance with Peter Obi, standard bearer of the Labour Party (LP) in the elections.<\/p>\n<p>While Obi won the election in the south-south state, Omo-Agege lost the governorship election to the Peoples Democratic Party <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/06\/23\/kogi-govship-pdp-woes-deepen-as-gov-bello-receives-ankpa-defectors-into-apc\/\">(PDP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>They said funds meant for the APC presidential campaign in the state were not disbursed until after the election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOmo-Agege, Peter Obi and the Obedient movement went into alliance to support Peter Obi for the presidential election and support Omo-Agege for the governorship,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were billboards and banners of him and the Labour Party candidate all over the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne such was the Kwele-Asaba road, with the pictures of Obi\/Datti for president, Omo-Agege\/Osenabi for governor and deputy governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe funds meant to prosecute the presidential election were not distributed until after the elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe few persons who received money were instructed to keep the money for the governorship elections. Again, we are challenging Omo-Agege to show proof of money distributed to party leaders before the presidential elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They alleged that Cairo Ojougboh, who was a member of the APC presidential campaign council (PCC), has come under attack because he refused to work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/06\/20\/delta-apc-party-chieftains-reveal-how-omo-agege-lured-emefiele-to-work-against-tinubu\/\">Omo-Agege<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the three senatorial districts in Delta state alleged that Ovie Omo-Agege worked against President Bola Tinubu during the last elections.
