{"id":279104,"date":"2023-07-11T22:54:35","date_gmt":"2023-07-11T21:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=279104"},"modified":"2023-07-11T22:54:35","modified_gmt":"2023-07-11T21:54:35","slug":"those-wishing-gov-akeredolu-dead-will-die-before-him-jimoh-ibrahim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/07\/11\/those-wishing-gov-akeredolu-dead-will-die-before-him-jimoh-ibrahim\/","title":{"rendered":"Those wishing Gov Akeredolu dead will die before him \u2013 Jimoh Ibrahim"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Akeredolu extend his medical leave<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong>Jimoh Ibrahim expressed displeasure at people&#8217;s manner on Akeredolu&#8217;s health status<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The senator representing Ondo South, Jimoh Ibrahim, has reacted to the rumours surrounding the health status of Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Akeredolu has already written to the State House of Assembly, seeking approval to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/07\/10\/akeredolu-writes-ondo-assembly-extends-medical-leave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extend his medical leave<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The governor had embarked on a 21-day leave on June 7 and was expected to return on July 6.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, claimed Akeredolu is in a state of \u201cextreme incapacity\u201d.<br \/>\nThe party\u2019s boss had while addressing the state chairmen during a meeting held on Monday described the Ondo governor as incapacitated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him; \u201cIt is our hope and prayers that he wi be speared and brought home soonest. In the same vein, we regret to announced, the extreme incapacity of the Governor of Ondo state who we understand has been hospitalised oversea. We wish and pray for him for a speedy recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, recanting, the statement signed by the National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, noted that; \u201cthe attention of the national headquarters APC has been drawn to a report, credited to the National Chairman; Adamu, in the 11th July, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe headline, \u201cAkeredolu in state of extreme incapacity, hospitalised\u201d, bore a tinge of the usual mischievous, wicked and insensitive reportage, sponsored by desperate politicians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe National Chairman was indeed excited at the reports on the rate of recovery of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and urged all those present at the meeting to pray for his quick return. It, therefore, smacks of mischief and unabashed abandonment of professional ethics for a reporter to present this gross misrepresentation, a mischievous twist, as news.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt no time did the National Chairman mention that the Governor was in a state of \u201cextreme incapacity\u201d in the meeting of 10th July 2023 or anytime for that matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is, evidently, not in any critical state that should warrant this clearly reprehensible conduct as he still sent a post to the Executive Council Committee platform yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMembers of the public are advised to ignore this news as the contents therein exist in the realm of the imagination of workers of iniquity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Governor is NOT incapacitated. He will return to his duty as soon as the doctors certify him fully fit to do so,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking on Tuesday, Ibrahim said: \u201cI want to express my displeasure in the way people are talking about Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu\u2019s health as if he\u2019s the first public office holder to fall sick,\u201d Ibrahim said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were all in this country when former President Muhammadu Buhari was out of the country for medical attention for about six months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can bet you, those wicked and evil people who are wishing Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu dead will die before him by God\u2019s grace.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Akeredolu extend his medical leave Jimoh Ibrahim expressed displeasure at people&#8217;s manner on Akeredolu&#8217;s health status The senator representing Ondo South, Jimoh Ibrahim, has reacted to the rumours surrounding the health status of Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of the state.
