{"id":280409,"date":"2023-07-21T07:32:40","date_gmt":"2023-07-21T06:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=280409"},"modified":"2023-07-21T07:33:33","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T06:33:33","slug":"police-seek-for-kano-blacksmiths-fabricating-weapons-for-criminals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/07\/21\/police-seek-for-kano-blacksmiths-fabricating-weapons-for-criminals\/","title":{"rendered":"Police seek for Kano blacksmiths fabricating weapons for criminals"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Police to begin clampdown on blacksmiths over fabrication of weapons for criminals\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Blacksmiths to be educated on the dangers of fabricating weapons for members of the public<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Police in Kano State revealed plans to begin a clampdown on blacksmiths in the state engaged in the fabrication of weapons for criminals.<\/p>\n<p>The disclosure was made on Thursday by the state commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel while briefing newsmen on the efforts of the police toward dislodging hoodlums from Dala Hills in the Dala Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can see the various types of knives on display and anybody, who looks at these knives would know that they were not fabricated for domestic use but rather for committing violence on human beings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the edges of the knives, they have the semblance of jackknives, only be used by officers of conventional services, comprising the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/07\/20\/military-air-strikes-kill-22-terrorists-in-katsina\/\">military<\/a> and the police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, our artisans, blacksmiths are now producing these weapons without minding the consequences but all they know is to produce and sell them to criminals at give-away prices. Thereafter, the criminals arm themselves with the weapons, which they use to attack innocent citizens and kill if they refuse to surrender their property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CP disclosed that he had sent an invitation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/17\/nysc-and-ibrahims-two-years-impactful-leadership\/\">blacksmiths<\/a> for dialogue, during which they would be educated on the dangers of fabricating weapons for members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a customer comes to you, it is mandatory for you to confirm his trade, whether he is a butcher and what he intends to do with the weapons that he is ordering to be fabricated for him,\u201d the CP said.<\/p>\n<p>In another story, police in Kano State confirmed the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/06\/15\/kano-police-arrest-12-illegal-immigrants-from-mali-niger\/\">arrest of 12 illegal immigrants<\/a><\/strong> from Mali and Niger Republic, as well as 33 other suspected criminals.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Mohammed Usaini-Gumel, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, announced on Wednesday that twelve illegal immigrants, seven\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/09\/12\/why-we-are-apprehending-illegal-immigrants-in-bayelsa-nis\/\">Malians and five Nigeriens deported from Saudi Arabia<\/a>, were discovered in a house in Hotoro Yandodo Quarters, Kano.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police to begin clampdown on blacksmiths over fabrication of weapons for criminals\u00a0 Blacksmiths to be educated on the dangers of fabricating weapons for members of the public Police in Kano State revealed plans to begin a clampdown on blacksmiths in the state engaged in the fabrication of weapons for criminals.
