There was never a time the governor said he would pay up all the arrears in six months.<\/p>\n<p>Knocking the opposition party, Alimi said \u201cThe APC since losing the governorship election has been going about spewing lies and half-truths. I am not surprised though, they are now in the opposition, but I urge them not to mislead the people by looking for cheap sympathy. Adeleke has paid two months, they did not pay one (month salary) for four years, should they be talking?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis government already has an agreement with the NLC, there is already a modality on how the half salary arrears will be paid and we are not going to renege,\u201d the commissioner stated.<\/p>\n<p>Alimi, while stressing that Adeleke and the Nigeria Labour Congress in Osun State had worked out modalities on how the arrears would be paid, added that the present administration would continue to take the welfare of civil servants seriously.<\/p>\n<p>He also urged the members of the public to disregard the APC members and their known antics, describing their stance on the matter as losing grasp with reality after their defeat at the polls.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has disclosed that all his appointed Commissioners and board chairmen were eminently qualified to hold political appointments.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to issues raised by opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress questioning the quality of persons appointed by the governor into his cabinet and state boards.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued by the Governor\u2019s Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed on Friday, the governor stated that the APC\u2019s frequent and illogical attack on the governor\u2019s appointees is a reflection of the division crisis that has engulfed the party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adeleke and the Nigeria Labour Congress in Osun State had worked out modalities on how the arrears would be paid Osun Government pledged to take the welfare of civil servants seriously Osun State Government has cleared the air on the arrangement for the payment of arrears of half salaries owed by the immediate past administration.
