{"id":283295,"date":"2023-08-12T06:46:13","date_gmt":"2023-08-12T05:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=283295"},"modified":"2023-08-12T06:46:13","modified_gmt":"2023-08-12T05:46:13","slug":"obong-of-calabar-speaks-on-terrible-roads-in-ogun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/08\/12\/obong-of-calabar-speaks-on-terrible-roads-in-ogun\/","title":{"rendered":"Obong Of Calabar Speaks On Terrible Roads In Ogun"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Obong of Calabar urges Governor Abiodun to address poor state of Ogun roads, particularly those to Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The monarch emphasizes the need for road improvements and plans to inform the President about the situation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Edidem Ekpo Abasi Otu, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/01\/2023-tinubu-visits-obong-of-calabar\/\">Obong of Calabar<\/a> in Cross River State, has bemoaned the deplorable state of roads in Ogun State and urged Governor Dapo Abiodun to pay attention and fix them.<\/p>\n<p>He asked Abiodun to pay special attention to the state&#8217;s roads, particularly those leading to the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where the monarch serves as Chancellor.<\/p>\n<p>He spoke shortly after a press conference to mark the University&#8217;s 30th convocation.<\/p>\n<p>Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Saka Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Matemilola, and the Ajalaye of Ilogun South, Ijebu Northeast Local Government Area, Oba Emmanuel Olusanu, all visited the Obong.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at his lodge on the University campus, the first-class monarch described his experience playing Ogun roads that led to the university&#8217;s permanent site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>He said;<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I will tell the President about it. This present President is our own and we will tell him about the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Look at this place, as beautiful as it is \u2013 but no matter what you build in a bush, it will not still show. While we were coming, the car was just moving in zig zag.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take it as a serious matter, it is the problem of the government. Let us do all that we could do to put this road in proper shape. You can step out and go to other states and see what governors have done, irrespective of whether it is federal roads or state roads. The key is that a structure you have there, that establishment you have there should be well taken care of. I have appealed now hoping that by next time I come here, the roads will be in their best shape.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes ago there was a president who was from here and nothing was done but now, we have a president who is our own and we shall tell him about these roads.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Vice Chancellor of the University, Kehinde Olusola, told newsmen that the school will be graduating a total
