{"id":283782,"date":"2023-08-15T14:27:11","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T13:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=283782"},"modified":"2023-08-15T14:27:11","modified_gmt":"2023-08-15T13:27:11","slug":"two-killed-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-auto-accidents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/08\/15\/two-killed-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-auto-accidents\/","title":{"rendered":"Two killed in Lagos-Ibadan expressway auto accidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The first accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday at about 12 midnight<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said one of the crashes occurred around Heyden Petrol Station<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Two separate auto crashes along the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/07\/17\/lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident-claims-4-lives\/\">Lagos-Ibadan<\/a><\/strong> highway have claimed two lives, authorities have said<\/p>\n<p>The first accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday at about 12 midnight.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC),\u00a0 one of the crashes, which occurred around Heyden Petrol Station, involved two male adults.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, one person was recorded dead from the crash and the second person unhurt,\u201d the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, told newsmen.<\/p>\n<p>Okpe said the vehicle involved was unidentified, stating that \u201cit was a case of hit-and-run. The corpse was deposited at Idera morgue Sagamu.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second road crash, Okpe, said, occurred at about 04:25 am, around Tollgate on the Sagamu-Abeokuta route.<\/p>\n<p>Okpe disclosed that the Mack tipper truck (JBD483ZY) involved was speeding, which led to a loss of control.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspected cause of the lone crash was speed, which led to a loss of control, and the vehicle crashed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo male adults were involved. One was killed and the other unhurt. The corpse was deposited at Idera morgue, Sagamu,\u201d Okpe explained.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, described the crashes as avoidable if caution was considered and simple traffic rules were put in place.<\/p>\n<p>Uga sympathised with the victims\u2019 families and advised the motoring public to put safety first when using the
