{"id":287115,"date":"2023-09-04T09:12:36","date_gmt":"2023-09-04T08:12:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=287115"},"modified":"2023-09-04T09:12:36","modified_gmt":"2023-09-04T08:12:36","slug":"active-mobile-subscriptions-hit-220-5m-in-july-ncc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/09\/04\/active-mobile-subscriptions-hit-220-5m-in-july-ncc\/","title":{"rendered":"Active mobile subscriptions hit 220.5m in July \u2013 NCC"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Total active subscriptions hits 85.3 million from 84.6 million it recorded in June 2023<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) has revealed that active subscriptions across mobile networks rose to 220.5 million in July, 2023, representing 0.4 per cent growth when compared to the preceding month.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that as of June, active subscriptions across the mobile networks stood at 219.7 million, which shows that the country\u2019s mobile subscriptions database grew by 770,889 in July.<\/p>\n<p>The latest industry statistics released by the commission disclosed that, MTN, the largest operator by subscriber number, boosted the total industry database with a 678,008 increase in its subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p>This brought its total active subscriptions to 85.3 million from 84.6 million it recorded in June 2023.<\/p>\n<p>9mobile also gained 176, 105 new subscriptions, which brought its total active connected lines to 13.7 million from 13.5 million in June. Similarly, Globacom added 23,565 new subscriptions in the month to record 61.4 million total subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Airtel, the third-largest operator by subscriber number, lost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/04\/26\/multichoice-under-fire-over-planned-hike-on-dstv-gotv-subscription-rate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">subscriptions<\/a> in the month.
