{"id":287560,"date":"2023-09-06T19:00:58","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T18:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=287560"},"modified":"2023-09-06T19:00:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T18:00:58","slug":"tribunal-verdict-i-wasnt-expecting-justice-charly-boy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/09\/06\/tribunal-verdict-i-wasnt-expecting-justice-charly-boy\/","title":{"rendered":"Tribunal verdict: I wasn&#8217;t expecting justice \u2013 Charly Boy"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Charly Obi, a staunch supporter of Obi, said he wasn&#8217;t expecting justice<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The court had earlier ruled that Obi&#8217;s petition lacks election lacks merit and incompetent<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Maverick singer Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, has said he was not surprised by the judgment of the the Presidential Election Petition Court.<\/p>\n<p>Within Nigeria reports that the court had ruled that the petition of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, challenging the outcome of the 2023 election <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/09\/06\/election-tribunal-upholds-president-tinubus-victory-labour-party-rejects-judgment\/\">lacks merit and incompetent. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Court in Abuja had, among many of its rulings, declared on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu was not convicted in the United States and also declared that he did not need to win 25 per cent of the votes in the FCT to be declared president, as argued by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in their petitions.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Haruna Tsammani, head of the five-member bench, said: \u201cThe voters in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, were equal to every other voter in the states in Nigeria; hence, Abuja had no special status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also said Labour Party and Obi failed to prove that they won the election and rejected 10 out 13 witnesses called by the petitioner.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the development, Charly Obi, a staunch supporter of Obi, said he wasn&#8217;t expecting justice.<\/p>\n<p>The judgement showed that Nigerians are not yet tired of suffering, Charly Boy wrote on his X page.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote: \u201cI didn\u2019t expect justice. But I have a strong feeling say we never really tire to suffer.
