{"id":290191,"date":"2023-09-23T05:33:01","date_gmt":"2023-09-23T04:33:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=290191"},"modified":"2023-09-23T05:33:01","modified_gmt":"2023-09-23T04:33:01","slug":"nasarawa-hospital-gives-2-week-ultimatum-for-9-unclaimed-corpses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/09\/23\/nasarawa-hospital-gives-2-week-ultimatum-for-9-unclaimed-corpses\/","title":{"rendered":"Nasarawa Hospital Gives 2-Week Ultimatum For 9 Unclaimed Corpses"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Keffi, Nasarawa State, has issued a two-week deadline for claiming nine unclaimed corpses<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The decision is due to some corpses exceeding the permitted six-month time limit and may result in mass burial if unclaimed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Keffi, Nasarawa State, has given a two-week deadline for claiming nine corpses left in its mortuary or face mass burial.<\/p>\n<p>This is stated in a statement signed on Friday by Miss Esther Bature, the medical centre&#8217;s Public Relations Officer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the statement;<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The decision by the management of the medical centre to issue the deadline is due to the fact that some of the corpses were brought in 2021 and others in 2022, thereby exceeding the time limit of 6 months permitted by law.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She urged members of the public who had lost loved ones during the specified time frame to visit the hospital&#8217;s morgue for possible identification and claims.<\/p>\n<p>She did, however, reiterate that if the two-week deadline expires on Friday, September 22, 2023, the medical center will be forced to give the nine corpses a mass burial.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"jeg_post_title\">Money ritual: Police nab five in possession of human skull in Niger<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/09\/22\/money-ritual-police-nab-five-in-possession-of-human-skull-in-niger\/\">Niger State Police Command<\/a> has apprehended five suspects allegedly involved in the possession of a human skull for a money ritual along the Minna-Bida road in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, it was reported that two of the suspects, Isah Mohammed (26 years old) and Idris Mohammed (28 years old), both from Sakpe village in Edati Local Government Area, were caught with the skull wrapped in a bag by a sister security agency during a routine patrol.<\/p>\n<p>The two suspects were later handed over to the state Police Area Command in Bida for further investigation. During this process, they revealed the names of three others who assisted them in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/09\/21\/breaking-police-exhume-mohbads-corpse-nurse-arrested\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exhuming<\/a>\u00a0a corpse and removing the head.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming the incident in Minna, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that the suspects were intercepted in a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle by a
