{"id":290768,"date":"2023-09-26T20:01:46","date_gmt":"2023-09-26T19:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=290768"},"modified":"2023-09-26T20:01:46","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T19:01:46","slug":"ekiti-doctor-beats-wife-to-pulp-over-refusal-to-take-care-of-pregnant-mistress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/09\/26\/ekiti-doctor-beats-wife-to-pulp-over-refusal-to-take-care-of-pregnant-mistress\/","title":{"rendered":"Ekiti doctor beats wife to pulp over refusal to take care of pregnant mistress"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>A relative of the wife disclosed that the CMD had instructed his wife to care for one of his staff members that he had impregnated<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong>However, things escalated when the wife refused to comply with the request<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. Olubiyi Olaolu Abidemi, the Chief Medical Director of Ekiti State Specialist Hospital, Ikere-Ekiti, allegedly physically assaulted his wife during an argument at their home on St. David Hospital Compound Ifaki-Ekiti on September 14, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, the trouble began when the wife refused to take care of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/02\/divorce-seeking-wife-beats-husband-to-pulp-in-lagos\/\"> Dr. Abidemi&#8217;s<\/a> pregnant mistress, which angered the Consultant Family Physician.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vanguard, a relative of the wife disclosed that the CMD had instructed his wife to care for one of his staff members that he had impregnated.<\/p>\n<p>However, things escalated when the wife refused to comply with the request.<\/p>\n<p>It is also reported that he threatened to harm her and allegedly grabbed her neck, attempting to strangle her at their residence.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. (Mrs) Olubiyi Adenike, a lecturer at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, suffered severe injuries to her neck and was admitted to the accident and emergency unit of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The family of the victim is now seeking help from the relevant authorities to ensure justice and protection for their daughter.<\/p>\n<p>When approached by the press, Dr. Abidemi refused to comment on the incident.
