{"id":292190,"date":"2023-10-06T07:27:14","date_gmt":"2023-10-06T06:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=292190"},"modified":"2023-10-06T07:27:14","modified_gmt":"2023-10-06T06:27:14","slug":"senate-summons-ig-pate-wike-over-abujas-one-chance-victims-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/10\/06\/senate-summons-ig-pate-wike-over-abujas-one-chance-victims-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate summons IG, Pate, Wike over Abuja&#8217;s &#8216;one chance&#8217; victim&#8217;s death"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>She was denied medical assistance at the public hospital, citing the lack of a police report, despite the Gunshots Act 2017 stipulations<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Senate has called upon the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Minister of Health, Ali Pate, and the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, to explain what it perceives as the &#8220;preventable demise of Ms. Greatness Olorunfemi at Maitama General Hospital.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Olorunfemi, a victim of &#8220;one chance&#8221; vehicle robbery, tragically bled to death after being stabbed and thrown out of a moving vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Shockingly, she was denied medical assistance at the public hospital, citing the lack of a police report, despite the Gunshots Act 2017 stipulations.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate&#8217;s action was prompted by a motion presented by Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong (APC Cross River South).
