{"id":296087,"date":"2023-11-06T15:37:59","date_gmt":"2023-11-06T14:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=296087"},"modified":"2023-11-06T15:37:59","modified_gmt":"2023-11-06T14:37:59","slug":"breaking-peter-obi-finally-speaks-on-supreme-court-judgement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/06\/breaking-peter-obi-finally-speaks-on-supreme-court-judgement\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Peter Obi finally speaks on Supreme Court Judgement"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Says judgment would not signify the end of the Obidient movement<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has accepted the judgment of the Supreme Court which affirmed the election of President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>Obi, however, said the judgment would not signify the end of the Obidient movement.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/02\/peter-obi-condemns-attack-on-ajaero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">former Anambra state governor<\/a> said with the legal battle over, the Labour Party was now in opposition.<\/p>\n<p>He said his resolve for a new Nigeria was still intact.<\/p>\n<p>Obi broke his silence on the Supreme Court judgment at a news conference on Monday, November 6, in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court on September 26, upheld the September 6 judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal affirming the declaration of Tinubu as duly elected president.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-member panel, led by Justice John Inyang-Okoro, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, who came second in the election, and Obi who came third.<\/p>\n<p>Obi said: \u201cIn the coming months we will build the party, we will make it stronger. We will build those young people. We will come out stronger and more committed to a new Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe future is dynamic.
