{"id":297519,"date":"2023-11-17T12:11:01","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T11:11:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=297519"},"modified":"2023-11-17T12:11:01","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T11:11:01","slug":"court-of-appeal-affirms-bala-mohammed-as-bauchi-gov","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/17\/court-of-appeal-affirms-bala-mohammed-as-bauchi-gov\/","title":{"rendered":"Court of Appeal affirms Bala Mohammed as Bauchi gov"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sadique Abubakar challenged the victory of Bala Mohammed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Abuja Division of the appellate court, on Friday, affirmed the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State in the March 18 governorship election.<\/p>\n<p>The panel of three justices was unanimous, awarding no cost as the court ruled that each party to the matter should bear their costs.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Aueal Jatau, led a delegation of officials of the state government to the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, for the ruling on the governorship election held in March 2023, which was delivered today.<\/p>\n<p>Jatau was representing his principal, who is not in the country at the moment; as the delegation includes the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman and the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Hamza Akuyam.<\/p>\n<p>Other officials who stormed the court for the judgement were commissioners, special advisers, and other state government officials.<\/p>\n<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/08\/15\/governor-bala-mohammed-swears-in-24-new-commissioners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohammed<\/a> of the PDP as the winner of the election.<\/p>\n<p>Following the declaration of Mohammed as the winner, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sadique Abubakar, approached the governorship election petition tribunal, challenging the victory.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the three-man panel, P T.
