{"id":298607,"date":"2023-11-26T10:03:12","date_gmt":"2023-11-26T09:03:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=298607"},"modified":"2023-11-26T10:03:12","modified_gmt":"2023-11-26T09:03:12","slug":"adeleke-urges-medical-doctors-to-tackle-systems-quackery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/26\/adeleke-urges-medical-doctors-to-tackle-systems-quackery\/","title":{"rendered":"Adeleke urges medical doctors to tackle system\u2019s quackery"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>He urged medical practitioners to assist the government in putting an end to the menace of quackery in the medical practice<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has charged medical professionals to collaborate with the government in sanitising the medical profession.<\/p>\n<p>He urged medical practitioners to assist the government in putting an end to the menace of quackery in the medical practice.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/25\/adeleke-embarks-on-vacation-to-europe-asia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">governor<\/a> gave this charge at the opening ceremony of the National Association of Government General Medical And Dental Practitioners (NAGMDP), National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Osogbo on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Represented by his Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr Akindele Adekunle, Adeleke while outlining the enormous responsibilities on the shoulders of medical doctors in the society, held that any form of quackery or half baked practitioners should not be encouraged within the association.<\/p>\n<p>In his words, \u201cAs professionals backed by laws and ordinances of your ethics, you have enormous responsibilities, the reach and the gavel to save lives even before the surgical knives in the theatre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore often is the fact that irreparable damages are done to the body system of victims of quackery before they are forced to your table. This I believe we must collaborate to bring to a halt in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the government works round our notable challenges in proffering sustainable solutions, I urge this council on behalf of our people and as patients would always beckon on their physicians, to do everything within your professional reach to combat the menace of quackery in the system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Governor Adeleke while appreciating members of the association support his administration and offering their services revealed that he is working on coming up with a comprehensive approach to adequately address the challenges members of the association are facing.<\/p>\n<p>In his words, \u201cI am aware the challenges you are going through goes beyond the recent approval of hazard allowances for medical practitioners in the state.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>He urged medical practitioners to assist the government in putting an end to the menace of quackery in the medical practice Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has charged medical professionals to collaborate with the government in sanitising the medical profession.
