{"id":298769,"date":"2023-11-27T17:21:09","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T16:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=298769"},"modified":"2023-11-27T17:21:09","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T16:21:09","slug":"fg-okays-n27-5tn-2024-appropriation-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/27\/fg-okays-n27-5tn-2024-appropriation-bill\/","title":{"rendered":"FG okays N27.5tn 2024 appropriation bill"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Targeted revenue for the next fiscal year stands at N18trillion<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The federal government has approved the sum of N27.5trillion for the 2024 Appropriation Bill.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Monday after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/27\/breaking-tinubu-swears-in-eight-new-permanent-secretaries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tinubu<\/a> at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, further details of the budget will be released when the President presents the budget to the National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), which had been passed by the National Assembly, was further reviewed.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, Bagudu said the targeted revenue for the next fiscal year now stands at N18trillion given new parameters of the MTEF.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe federal executive council considered the 2024 Appropriation bill. The MTEF was earlier approved by the National Assembly. It has an exchange rate of N700 to a dollar and a crude oil benchmark of $73.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo improve revenue, the council further reviewed the MTEF, with an exchange rate of N750 to a dollar, and a crude oil benchmark of $77.
