{"id":300257,"date":"2023-12-09T09:51:01","date_gmt":"2023-12-09T08:51:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=300257"},"modified":"2023-12-09T09:51:01","modified_gmt":"2023-12-09T08:51:01","slug":"gov-adeleke-offsets-half-salary-debt-to-osun-civil-servants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/12\/09\/gov-adeleke-offsets-half-salary-debt-to-osun-civil-servants\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov Adeleke offsets half-salary debt to Osun civil servants"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The arrears were incurred by the Rauf Aregbesola administration<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>During the Adegboyega Oyetola administration, no effort was taken to offset the salary debts<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has paid another set of half salary debt owed to civil servants.<\/p>\n<p>The arrears were incurred by the Rauf Aregbesola administration.<\/p>\n<p>During the Adegboyega Oyetola administration, no effort was taken to offset the salary debts.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement signed by the governor\u2019s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, this is making it the fourth being paid since the inception of Adeleke\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<p>The statement, which revealed that Governor Adeleke had previously approved a phased payment approach to address the 30-month half salaries debt, highlighted a similar agreement with pensioners for the settlement of a substantial N75 billion in outstanding pension and gratuity.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/12\/08\/njc-rejects-adelekes-request-to-suspend-osuns-chief-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">governor<\/a> emphasised proactive measures taken upon assuming office, including the issuance of a circular on phased payment by the Head of Service under his directive<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI revealed in several rallies last year that our administration would swing to action and activate the payment process once elected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI acted when we assumed office and we came up with a circular on the phased payment issued by the Head of Service on my instruction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to assure workers that we will stick to the circular.
