{"id":300661,"date":"2023-12-12T16:09:18","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T15:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=300661"},"modified":"2023-12-12T16:09:23","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T15:09:23","slug":"shettima-unveils-blueprint-for-transport-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/12\/12\/shettima-unveils-blueprint-for-transport-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"Shettima unveils blueprint for transport sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>He stressed the need for a robust and efficient transportation system connecting every part of the country and driving socio-economic prosperity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday in Abuja unveiled a blueprint for the reformation of Nigeria\u2019s transportation sector.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima, represented by Special Adviser, General-Duties, to the President, Office of the Vice-President, Aliyu Modibbo, unveiled the blueprint at the 5th National Summit of Chartered Institute of Transport Administration, CIOTA.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the Federal Government was committed to addressing the transportation challenges Nigerians were grappling with following the removal of subsidies on petroleum products.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima canvassed for a collaborative revolution with the institute as the driving force for the blueprint.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/12\/07\/shettima-visits-kaduna-over-militarys-bombing-of-villagers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vice president<\/a> acknowledged the institute\u2019s crucial role as the \u201clifeblood\u201d and \u201cartery\u201d of the nation\u2019s economic and social progress.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed the need for a robust and efficient transportation system connecting every part of the country and driving socio-economic prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima said, \u201cI must appeal to you to remain the architects of a robust and efficient transport system and to partake in managing the connection of every part of our nation, for that is the pathway to knitting together the fabric of our socio-economic prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The vice president said that the institute\u2019s objectives align perfectly with President Bola Tinubu\u2019s renewed hope agenda.<\/p>\n<p>He said that none of the government\u2019s eight presidential priorities, from food security to job creation, could be achieved without a functional transportation system.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima added,\u201d Mr President\u2019s critical focus points require an efficiently functional transportation system to achieve our mandate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d We will find it useful to have suggestions from the institute: well-thought-out policy enunciation, transportation infrastructure designs, and effective operational management strategies in all modes of transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>He stressed the need for a robust and efficient transportation system connecting every part of the country and driving socio-economic prosperity Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday in Abuja unveiled a blueprint for the reformation of Nigeria\u2019s transportation sector.
