{"id":301474,"date":"2023-12-18T07:52:45","date_gmt":"2023-12-18T06:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=301474"},"modified":"2023-12-18T07:52:45","modified_gmt":"2023-12-18T06:52:45","slug":"frsc-warns-motorists-against-speeding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/12\/18\/frsc-warns-motorists-against-speeding\/","title":{"rendered":"FRSC warns motorists against speeding"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Anthony Uga, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, highlighted this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Ota, Ogun<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps stresses the importance of altering road users&#8217; attitudes to prevent accidents, particularly on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Uga, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/30\/frsc-arrests-35-motorists-for-bribing-officers-in-imo\/\">FRSC<\/a> Sector Commander in Ogun, highlighted this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Ota, Ogun.<\/p>\n<p>Within six days, three separate accidents along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway resulted in the tragic loss of 16 lives, as reported by NAN.<\/p>\n<p>The FRSC appealed to motorists to change their attitude, adding \u201cIf you are fatigued while driving from a long distance, why don\u2019t you park and rest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition, motorists should desist from traveling at night and reduce their speed to reduce carnage on the highway,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The FRSC enjoined passengers to caution any erring driver, saying passengers could even call the FRSC toll line to give the details of vehicles so that such vehicles could be apprehended.<\/p>\n<p>Uga said that they had embarked on sensitisation at motor stations to educate drivers to desist from driving under the influence of intoxicating substances to stem crashes.<\/p>\n<p>He admonished motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to be cautious because of the rehabilitation of the road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anthony Uga, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, highlighted this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Ota, Ogun The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps stresses the importance of altering road users&#8217; attitudes to prevent accidents, particularly on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
