The forum, comprising former governors, deputy governors, academia, technocrats, traditional rulers, and community leaders, highlighted concerns that the resolution favoured the FCT minister and was not feasible.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter signed by former Governor Rufus Ada George, Dr. GTG Toby, former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Senator Andrew Uchendu, Senator Ben Birabi, Chief Anabs Sara Igbe, and others, the forum conveyed that the resolution was detrimental to the governor, the governance of the state, and the interests of the people of Rivers State.<\/p>\n<p>The forum observed an imbalance in the composition and attendance during the meeting, noting a lack of equilibrium between the warring factions. Emphasizing that the eight resolutions were impractical, the forum argued that implementing such resolutions would contradict the Constitution and the rule of law.<\/p>\n<p>The letter serves as a plea to President Tinubu, urging a reevaluation of the resolution for a more balanced and constitutionally sound outcome that serves Rivers State&#8217;s and its people&#8217;s best interests.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"jeg_post_title\">Political crisis: I\u2019m committed to having peace in Rivers \u2013 Wike<\/h3>\n<div class=\"jeg_meta_container\">\n<p>The immediate past governor of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/12\/25\/dont-meddle-in-political-crisis-you-know-nothing-about-wike-tells-rivers-people\/\">Rivers state<\/a>, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he supports the peace process brokered between him and his successor, Siminilayi Fubara, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>Wike and his successor, Sim Fubara, have been at daggers drawn for weeks over the state&#8217;s political and economic control.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, stated that he has subjected himself to the peace process and berated some elders and leaders in the state who faulted the methodology adopted by the President to bring a lasting peace to the state.<\/p>\n<p>The FCT minister spoke on Sunday while addressing the congregation during a thanksgiving and marriage anniversary of the immediate past Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dr Des George-Kelly, at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/12\/25\/political-crisis-im-committed-to-having-peace-in-rivers-wike\/\">Kings\u2019 Assembly in Port
