{"id":305811,"date":"2024-01-15T19:28:50","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T18:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=305811"},"modified":"2024-01-15T19:28:50","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T18:28:50","slug":"alleged-n438m-contract-ccb-summons-interior-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/01\/15\/alleged-n438m-contract-ccb-summons-interior-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Alleged N438m contract: CCB summons Interior Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Invitation extended to the minister was in furtherance of an ongoing investigation on the issue by the CCB on the grounds that Tunji-Ojo might have violated the Code of Conduct for Public Officers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has invited the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over the allegation that his firm \u2013 New Planet Projects, \u2013 was involved in a now controversial N438m contract with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.<\/p>\n<p>It was learnt on Monday, January 15, that the invitation extended to the minister was in furtherance of an ongoing investigation on the issue by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/05\/26\/breaking-buhari-receives-asset-declaration-form-from-ccb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CCB<\/a> on the grounds that Tunji-Ojo might have violated the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.<\/p>\n<p>The invitation requested the minister to among others, appear before its investigating committee on January 16, 2024, at the CCB headquarters within the Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The invitation letter was signed on behalf of the CCB chairman, Muritala Aliyu by the Director of Investigation and Monitoring, Gwimi S.P.<\/p>\n<p>The CCB said it was acting with its mandate and powers as provided in the Third Schedule, Part 1, 3 (e) of the 1999 Constitution<\/p>\n<p>The invitation letter reads: \u201cThe bureau is investigating a case of alleged breach of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers in which your name featured prominently. Consequently, you are invited for an interview scheduled as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDate: Tuesday, 16th January, 2024. Time: 1100hrs prompt. Venue: CCB Headquarters on 5th Floor, Annex III, Phase I, Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis invitation is pursuant to the mandate and powers of the Bureau as enshrined in the Third Schedule, Part I, Paragraph 3 (e) to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. Please be properly guided.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An official of the CCB, who confirmed the development said the minister was expected to interact with the agency\u2019s investigators on Tuesday to assist in
