{"id":306886,"date":"2024-01-22T20:12:50","date_gmt":"2024-01-22T19:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=306886"},"modified":"2024-01-22T20:12:50","modified_gmt":"2024-01-22T19:12:50","slug":"ogun-economy-now-worth-over-n6trn-commissioner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/01\/22\/ogun-economy-now-worth-over-n6trn-commissioner\/","title":{"rendered":"Ogun economy now worth over N6trn \u2014 Commissioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>This announcement took place during the budget presentation media parley at the Olusegun Osoba Press Centre in the Governor\u2019s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, on Monday<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun administration&#8217;s commitment to good governance has reportedly elevated the state&#8217;s economy to over N6 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hon Dapo Okubadejo, the Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/10\/07\/dapo-abiodun-inaugurates-scholarship-in-honour-of-late-son\/\">Abiodun<\/a>, the 2024 budget aims for a N240bn Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from the overall N703bn budget.<\/p>\n<p>This announcement took place during the budget presentation media parley at the Olusegun Osoba Press Centre in the Governor\u2019s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe economy of Ogun State when we started in 2019 was much lower but it is now over N6trn. To give a sense to this, the budget of the whole country is N28trn, and the totality for the states is N17trn out of which Ogun has N703bn making us to be number five in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe actually started with a budget of over N300bn but within four years, we have doubled this with a budget performance of 75 per cent in a few years, we would be talking of a trillion budget.
