{"id":309197,"date":"2024-02-07T13:12:01","date_gmt":"2024-02-07T12:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=309197"},"modified":"2024-02-07T13:12:01","modified_gmt":"2024-02-07T12:12:01","slug":"witness-to-court-unical-law-professor-pressured-me-to-trade-my-virginity-for-admission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/02\/07\/witness-to-court-unical-law-professor-pressured-me-to-trade-my-virginity-for-admission\/","title":{"rendered":"Witness To Court &#8211; UNICAL Law Professor Pressured Me To Trade My Virginity For Admission"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The professor and his lawyer, Sunny Anyanwu, are currently standing trial on amended four counts of alleged sexual harassment and an attempt to perverse the cause of justice.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>Led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, Osuobeni Akponimisingha, TKJ who is the second witness on the matter, said the professor boasted of offering admission to about 50 students.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has received testimony regarding a sexual harassment claim made against its suspended dean, Cyril Ndifon, from a female student.<\/p>\n<p>Due to accusations of sexual harassment, Ndifon has been in the news since August of last year. Afterwards, the school&#8217;s investigative body suspended him and looked into his case.<\/p>\n<p>The professor, who was subsequently replaced, was found guilty by the panel of sexual harassment and misuse of office.<\/p>\n<p>Ndifon was charged with a crime by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/01\/09\/icpc-will-arrest-more-corrupt-nigerians-using-digitisation-nitda\/\">ICPC<\/a> in October of last year.<\/p>\n<p>At the resumption of trial on Tuesday, the student \u2014 who is the second witness and simply identified as TKJ 2 \u2014 told the court that the former dean pressured her to trade her virginity for admission into the institution.<\/p>\n<p>NAN reports that the witness representing the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) claimed Ndifon also forced her to have oral sex with him after making demands on three occasions.<\/p>\n<p>TKJ revealed that she got to know the professor during her diploma studies in the school.<\/p>\n<p>She testified before James Omotosho of a federal high court in Abuja while being led in evidence by Osuobeni Akponimisingha, the ICPC\u2019s lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe asked me to see him in his office. After my lectures that day, I went to his office. When I got there, he had many visitors waiting for him. He asked that I wait for him. After some hours, he dismissed his visitors and asked me to lock the door. I did as he instructed. He stood up from his seat and asked me to hug him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI moved back and he asked if I was scared. I nodded my head. He said I should not be scared and that I should see him as a father.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told me to stop doing that and asked why was I doing like a baby. He asked if I was a virgin, and I said yes. He said am I sure? He said that it was very good. He asked, \u2018Can you give it (my virginity) to me? I shouted Jesus! He said I should give it to him and he told me he would give me admission. I told him I would think about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TKJ also claimed the suspended dean pressured her for nude videos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe asked me to make a nude video and send it to him. Before I could say anything, he ended the call. Later, he called again and demanded the video. I told him that I was still a virgin and he ended the call,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI sent him a message on WhatsApp that I\u2019m still very tight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told me he would give me an admission that I should not worry I should send the video. After so many calls, I had to send the video to him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The witness claimed while the sexual harassment protest was ongoing on campus, Ndifon also requested more nudes from her.<\/p>\n<p>She also told the court that during the panel probe, the former dean came to her hostel to demand oral sex.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe tried to put his hand inside my trousers, and I removed it. He said what is it again. He brought out his manhood inside the car. He said I should suck and make him happy inside the car,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told him again I was in my period, and he said is it every day I was seeing my period?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe bent my head to suck in front of my hostel. I begged him I was not feeling fine but he didn\u2019t listen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told him I was fasting but he refused. He pushed my neck to suck it. I begged and begged but he forced it till he entered my mouth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told me sorry that I should clear my tears before leaving his car.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said Ndifon later transferred N3000 into her account to treat herself after requesting the account details.<\/p>\n<p>After giving her evidence, the prosecution counsel tendered bank receipt as evidence and it was admitted as an exhibit after Joe Agu, Ndifon\u2019s lawyer, withdrew his objection.<\/p>\n<p>Omotosho adjourned the matter until February 7 for continuation.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Luci Chima, the ICPC investigator who represented witness one, told the court that the forensic analysis done on Ndifon\u2019s phone showed that there were several nude pictures from many contacts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The professor and his lawyer, Sunny Anyanwu, are currently standing trial on amended four counts of alleged sexual harassment and an attempt to perverse the cause of justice.
