{"id":310272,"date":"2024-02-14T22:26:21","date_gmt":"2024-02-14T21:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=310272"},"modified":"2024-02-14T22:26:21","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T21:26:21","slug":"lagos-to-inaugurate-red-line-rail-flyover-feb-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/02\/14\/lagos-to-inaugurate-red-line-rail-flyover-feb-29\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagos to inaugurate red line rail flyover Feb. 29"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Speaking at the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) Stakeholders Forum 2024, he highlighted the potential of the red line to carry approximately 500,000 passengers daily<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced the inauguration of the Lagos rail mass transit red line on Feb. 29, aimed at enhancin transportation in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) Stakeholders Forum 2024, he highlighted the potential of the red line to carry approximately 500,000 passengers daily.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed excitement about the progress of the construction initiated during his administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy to invite you when Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, would be commissioning the Red Line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are still hoping to commission it within this February.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dWe believe the Red Line will carry more passengers than the Blue Line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Red Line is longer and it has a lot of other infrastructure,\u201d he had said.<\/p>\n<p>The governor also reiterated the essence of the creation of LASPA, which is to provide solution to the parking situation in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsidering the crucial role that parking management plays in traffic management around the world, and the fact that Traffic Management and Transportation is the first Pillar of our THEMES+ agenda, we cannot but place it on the front-burner of our transport policy implementation in Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you are all aware, the Lagos State Government has a strategic transport master plan within the ambit of this master plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have the Lagos State Parking Policy, as well as the law that was established in 2021,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that LASPA had been saddled with the responsibility of regulating all forms of parking and adopting innovative, adaptable and sustainable operational systems and technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Sanwo-Olu said it was to lay the foundation for a lasting change in parking culture across the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re intentional and unrelenting in our efforts to address all traffic issues in the state, and we have identified indiscriminate parking as one of the major challenges to the free flow of traffic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Speaking at the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) Stakeholders Forum 2024, he highlighted the potential of the red line to carry approximately 500,000 passengers daily Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced the inauguration of the Lagos rail mass transit red line on Feb. 29, aimed at enhancin transportation in Lagos.
