He highlighted the disparity between the present constitution and the one negotiated by the country&#8217;s founding fathers, suggesting a return to the original principles for effective governance.<\/p>\n<p>He said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/02\/23\/senate-reveals-mode-of-voting-on-constitution-review\/\">present constitution<\/a> was a departure from the one the country\u2019s founding fathers negotiated and agreed upon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am on record for saying that these challenges cannot be effectively addressed under the constitution and governance system we have at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot effectively address these challenges that have assumed a nationwide dimension, especially insecurity which has pervaded the Northern part of the country and other communities,\u201d Anyaoku said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe constitution for a pluralistic state as Nigeria; we have to return to those principles of the constitution as earlier agreed by our founding fathers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil we do that, I am afraid that we cannot effectively deal with the nation&#8217;s challenges,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Anyaoku criticized its detrimental impact on the economy of the South East region. He attributed the order to the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, urging authorities to address the root cause to mitigate further disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>In a related development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized the importance of perseverance and patriotism in nation-building during his visit to the National Museum of Qatar. Reflecting on Nigeria&#8217;s journey, Tinubu acknowledged the need for continued efforts to document and preserve cultural heritage, drawing parallels with Qatar&#8217;s commitment to showcasing its rich history.<\/p>\n<p>While commending Qatar&#8217;s achievements, Tinubu emphasized the enduring significance of nationalism and patriotism in navigating nations&#8217; challenges. He underscored the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in addressing evolving
