On February 29, members of Joint Task Force Northwest of Operation Haderin Daji, OPHD, carried out a rescue operation in Zamfara State, freeing two hostages and taking out a bandit.<\/p>\n

Lieutenant Omale Suleiman, Operation Hadarin Daji’s information officer, revealed this.<\/p>\n

He claimed that the brave soldiers at the forward operating base (FOB) OPHD Dan-Marke carried out the operation.<\/p>\n

Omale further explained that the operation, prompted by intelligence reports of bandits\u2019 movements near Kairu village, involved a swift response, resulting in a prolonged gun battle forcing the bandits to retreat with injuries.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne bandit<\/strong><\/a> was neutralized, and an operational motorcycle was recovered.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe troops responded to a distress call in Unguwar Sarkin Musulmi village which resulted to the rescue of a driver and passenger, giving security to the axis<\/p>\n

\u201cIn another operation in Katsina State\u2019s Batsari general area, OPHD troops engaged bandits, neutralizing two and recovering an operational motorcycle, prompting others to flee into the forest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to him, Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, commended the troops\u2019 gallant performance, urging them to sustain the momentum until peace was fully restored in the Northwest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
