The government has implemented proactive measures to contain the disease&#8217;s spread in the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government has established treatment centres in the affected LGAs, including temporary isolation camps in some secondary schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government has also engaged 18 ad hoc staff, including two medical doctors, at the isolation centres, among other measures,\u201d Umar added.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Nigeria became the first country to receive the new MenFive meningitis vaccine from the Vaccine Alliance-funded global stockpile, with a shipment delivered by the United Nations Children\u2019s Fund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ICG approved the deployment of 1,043,377 doses of MenFive in response to Nigeria\u2019s request,\u201d Gavi said in a statement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These cases were documented across six local government areas On Monday, the Yobe State Government reported that 564 out of the 636 meningitis patients have now recovered.
