This initiative stems from the recent approval by the Federal Government, which granted state authorities the autonomy to operate and oversee their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/30\/monthly-subsidy-on-electricity-now-n30bn-fg\/\">electricity<\/a> utilities.<\/p>\n<p>Raymond Asemakaha, the Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), unveiled this development during a meeting with Remedy Earth representatives at the BIPC headquarters in Makurdi. Asemakaha urged the electricity firm to initiate a trial power station in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Asemakaha emphasized the necessity for state-owned power generation infrastructure to invigorate economic activities and uplift communities.<\/p>\n<p>He remarked, &#8220;Economic vitality hinges on sufficient power supply. Thus, we are exploring avenues to ensure autonomous electricity generation and distribution across the state.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We advocate for establishing the plant within our domain for a test phase. We prioritize tangible demonstrations over mere promises,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Remedy Earth delegation, headed by Peace Obichere, affirmed their commitment to implementing the pilot project for BIPC within nine months.
