{"id":314648,"date":"2024-03-15T05:46:39","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T04:46:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=314648"},"modified":"2024-03-15T05:46:39","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T04:46:39","slug":"p-harcourt-refinery-will-begin-operations-in-two-weeks-mele-kyari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/03\/15\/p-harcourt-refinery-will-begin-operations-in-two-weeks-mele-kyari\/","title":{"rendered":"P\/Harcourt Refinery Will begin Operations In Two Weeks \u2013 Mele Kyari"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Speaking with newsmen after briefing the senators, Kyari said the mechanical works have been completed on the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Refining of crude oil at the Port Harcourt refinery will kickstart in two weeks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/03\/14\/nnpcl-chief-alleges-widespread-involvement-in-oil-theft\/\">the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)<\/a> has disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>The Group Managing Director (GMD) of NNPC, Mele Kyari, made the disclosure when he appeared before Senate ad-hoc committee investigating the various Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) Projects of the Nigerian Refineries.<\/p>\n<p>Kyari stated that over 450, 000 barrels of oil had been stocked into the Port Harcourt refinery.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with newsmen after briefing the senators, Kyari said the mechanical works have been completed on the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries.<\/p>\n<p>He added stressing that the Kaduna refinery would commence operations in December this year.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cWe are serving this country with honour and dignity. And we will make sure that the promises we make on the rehabilitation of this refineries will take place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did a mechanical completion of the refinery that was what we said in December. We now have crude oil already stocked in the refinery. We are doing regulartory compliance test that must happen in every refinery before you start it, and I assure you that this Port Harcourt refinery will start in the next two week..<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompleting the mechanical work means that you are done with the rehabilitation work, now you have to test to see how it works. Of course, we have also completed the mechanical work on Warri refinery. It is also undergoing regulatory compliance; processes that we are doing with our regulator, and this will soon be completed and it will be ready.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKaduna refinery will be ready by December. We have not reached that stage in Kaduna, but we promise Kaduna will be delivered by December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLastly, all the crude lines supplying crude to Port Harcourt and Warri are very active and we have delivered over 450, 000 barrels of oil into Port Harcourt refinery. We are confident of integrity of it.
