{"id":315882,"date":"2024-03-23T22:33:15","date_gmt":"2024-03-23T21:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=315882"},"modified":"2024-03-23T22:33:15","modified_gmt":"2024-03-23T21:33:15","slug":"nysc-denies-posting-corps-member-to-southwest-security-outfit-amotekun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/03\/23\/nysc-denies-posting-corps-member-to-southwest-security-outfit-amotekun\/","title":{"rendered":"NYSC denies posting corps member to Southwest security outfit, Amotekun"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Reiterated that a posting letter with such deployment did not emanate from the NYSC Oyo state<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has debunked a story trending on social media of a corps member posted to Amotekun Corps for a one-year mandatory youth service programme.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations, NYSC Oyo State, Ms Christy Olatoye, in a statement on Saturday in Ibadan said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/02\/06\/amotekun-arrests-149-suspected-criminals-in-ondo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amotekun<\/a> was not included on the list of employers on NYSC database.<\/p>\n<p>She, however, said the Western Nigeria Security Network code-named \u201cAmotekun\u201d remained a respected organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Olatoye reiterated that a posting letter with such deployment did not emanate from the NYSC Oyo state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe attention of the NYSC Oyo state has been drawn to a story trending on the Social media of a corps member posted to Amotekun Corps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to set the record straight that it is the policy of the National Youth Service Corps to post Corps members to where they would be relevant and their services will be well utilised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I admit that the Amotekun Corps is a respected organisation in its line of assignment but it is not included on the list of employers on our database.
