Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has reinstated Yusuf Imam, who was previously dismissed for criticizing the Vice President, Kashim Shettima.<\/p>\n
Imam, formerly the Special Adviser for Youth and Sport, was removed from his position last September along with another official, Adamu Aliyu, the commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, who made threatening remarks towards judges of the state\u2019s governorship electoral petition tribunal.<\/p>\n
The government spokesperson, Halilu Dantiye, clarified that the views expressed by both officials did not reflect the official stance of the state government under Governor Yusuf.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile the Special Adviser on Youth and Sport, Alhaji Yusuf Imam making unguarded and disrespectful statements on His Excellency Alhaji Kashim Shettima GCON the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor these reasons, the Governor of Kano State has relieved the two officials of their appointment with immediate effect: Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Adamu A. Kibiya, and the Special Adviser on Youth and Sport, Alhaji Yusuf Imam,\u201d Mr Dantiye wrote.<\/p>\n
Premium Times reported that Mr. Aliyu was reappointed in March, while Mr. Imam was recalled in April. The governor\u2019s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, announced on Tuesday that Mr. Imam was reinstated to his previous position.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the governor approved the appointments of new special advisers and heads of government agencies.<\/p>\n
Baba Umar transitioned from Special Adviser to the Executive Secretary of the Private and Voluntary Institutions Management Board. Nasir Muhammad was appointed as the Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Aminu Bako was designated as the Deputy Managing Director of the Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA).<\/p>\n
