The Imo State Police Command announced the arrest of Aralu Charis, a notorious kidnapper, on Monday.<\/p>\n
According to the police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, the 40-year-old was apprehended on Saturday in Mgbidi, Oru-West LGA, following credible intelligence.<\/p>\n
Okoye noted that Charis had orchestrated several kidnapping operations within and beyond the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn searching his hideout, one ash coloured Toyota Camry, 2005 model, with registration number\u2014MUS 509 DS Lagos, reportedly snatched was recovered,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the course of investigation, he confessed that he is the gang leader of a deadly criminal syndicate terrorizing the people of Imo state and provided crucial information that will assist the determined operatives in the arrest of his syndicate at large.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect will be arraigned in court upon completion of a comprehensive investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Okoye said Aboki Danjuma, the commissioner of police in Imo, expressed the command\u2019s commitment to ensuring total clamp down on crime in the state.<\/p>\n
