A tragic incident unfolded in Yar\u2019Gwanda, Tsanyawa LGA, Kano, where a 60-year-old man named Danjuma, known as Black, along with his son Ibrahim, 35, and Aminu Gaye, also 35, lost their lives in a pit latrine while attempting to retrieve a phone. Fortunately, a fourth person, Abba Alasan, 28, was rescued alive from the same pit.<\/p>\n
The Kano State Fire Service spokesman, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe received an emergency call from Tsanyawa Fire Station at about 11:00 a.m. from one Aminu Yar\u2019gwanda that four men had been trapped inside a pit toilet.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 11:15 a.m. Danjuma was trying to retrieve a phone that fell into the pit toilet, when he got trapped. Thereafter, his son entered the pit toilet to save his father and also got trapped.<\/p>\n
\u201cGaye and Alasan also entered to rescue both men, but they also got trapped,\u201d Mr Abdullahi said.<\/p>\n
Mr Abdullahi also mentioned the first three victims were rescued unconscious, while the fourth victim was rescued alive. He said the victims were handed over to Superintendent of Police Iro Lado at the Tsanyawa police division.<\/p>\n
The police conveyed the victims to Bichi Special Hospital for medical attention, where doctors on duty confirmed the three dead and one alive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
