{"id":320653,"date":"2024-04-27T11:55:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-27T10:55:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=320653"},"modified":"2024-04-27T11:55:50","modified_gmt":"2024-04-27T10:55:50","slug":"three-die-in-ondo-road-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/04\/27\/three-die-in-ondo-road-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Three die in Ondo road accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>A Toyota Camry car with number plate LND 592 GX and two commercial buses were said to be involved in the accident<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>A fatal road accident in Nigeria&#8217;s south west <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/04\/25\/breaking-former-ondo-deputy-gov-wins-pdp-guber-ticket-to-battle-incumbent-aiyedatiwa\/\">State of Ondo<\/a> has left three people dead<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened in the Akungba-Ikare Road in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the State on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>A Toyota Camry car with number plate LND 592 GX and two commercial buses were said to be involved in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>According to an eyewitness, the driver of the car suddenly opened the door and hit a motorcycle which carried the victims and they fell down on the road while the other vehicle coming on the other side ran over them.<\/p>\n<p>The victims were said to have died on the spot, the driver of the car immediately fled the scene for fear of being lynched while youths in the area set the car ablaze.<\/p>\n<p>The Ondo Sector Commander of the Road Safety Commission, Ezekiel Son\u2019Allah, confirmed the accident, adding that it was caused by wrongful overtaking and route violation on the part of the vehicles involved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree persons were killed while the accident was caused by wrongful overtaking and route violation. The victims were taken to Aduloju Hospital Akungba by the policemen,\u201d Son\u2019Allah said.<\/p>\n<p>While cautioning motorists to avoid violating traffic rules, the FRSC boss opined that speed
