Niger State Governor, Muhammadu Umaru Bago, has emphasized the importance of gender equality, calling it a moral imperative and a crucial driver of sustainable development and social progress.<\/p>\n
He made this declaration while inaugurating the 2024 North Central National Women Sensitization Workshop, held at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Center in Minna, the state capital, on Monday, April 29, 2024.<\/p>\n
The Governor, represented by his deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, opined that the theme of the workshop: \u201cCommunity Participation, Critical Stakeholders Support and House of Representatives Committee on Women Affairs as essential partners in the fight against insecurity, Drug abuse, Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children in our Society\u201d, underscores the urgent need for collaboration and collective action by all stakeholders in tackling social vices and societal challenges, that creates safer environment for all.<\/p>\n
The Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Fatima Muhammed Umaru Bago, and the Chairperson, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, spoke at the workshop.<\/p>\n
They emphasized the importance of sensitizing women about the dangers of drugs, insecurity, and human trafficking, which affect women and communities. They encouraged youths and students to avoid social vices and violence, promising legislative support to eradicate these issues.
