access<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The federal government has announced an increase of 625 megawatts to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/09\/26\/after-weeks-of-improved-power-supply-national-grid-crashes-to-zero-megawatt\/\">national grid<\/a>, elevating its wheeling capacity to 4800 megawatts.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, disclosed this during the commissioning of the 63 MVA, 132\/33kV mobile station at Ajah, Lagos State, and Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, held simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>Adelabu emphasized that the Ajah Mobile Substation is strategically positioned to address transmission capacity limitations by over 1300MW nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the substation&#8217;s role in enhancing transmission capacity, energy access, and overall progress towards the 4000MW to 6000MW enhancement targets.<\/p>\n<p>Adelabu underscored the versatility of the mobile substation, noting its significance in responding swiftly to power demands, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery, and serving as a temporary measure during maintenance and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing challenges within the power sector, Adelabu noted resistance and distractions from vested interests but assured Nigerians of the government&#8217;s commitment to completing Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) projects, which would yield tangible benefits.<\/p>\n<p>He urged Nigerians to endure temporary difficulties for enduring benefits, emphasizing the government&#8217;s focus on citizens&#8217; welfare and the need for service-driven tariffs rather than mere cost reflection.<\/p>\n<p>Adelabu reiterated the government&#8217;s stance on electricity provision, stating that distribution companies (discos) must ensure 20-24 hours of electricity supply before charging N225\/kwh, or face heavy fines.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he urged Nigerians to protect national assets from vandalism and sabotage, recognizing them as vital to the nation&#8217;s development.<\/p>\n<p>The MD\/CEO of FGN Power Company, Mr. Kenny Anuwe, highlighted the project&#8217;s phased implementation, stating that half of the project has been delivered, with a target of 4000 to 6000 megawatts across the six geopolitical
