{"id":3216,"date":"2021-03-07T20:07:25","date_gmt":"2021-03-07T19:07:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=3216"},"modified":"2021-03-07T20:08:35","modified_gmt":"2021-03-07T19:08:35","slug":"us-to-restart-visa-interviews-in-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/07\/us-to-restart-visa-interviews-in-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"US to restart visa interviews in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The United States has announced his intentions to continue visa interviews and other consular services in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos gave the hint at the unveiling of its expanded pavilion.<\/p>\n<p>Claire Pierangelo, the Consul General, noted that the renovated pavilion will provide a new safe space for visa applicants to socially distance while waiting for their appointment.<\/p>\n<p>The consulate received an average of 1,000 visa and American Citizen Services customers per day, prior to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/07\/nigeria-records-195-new-covid-19-cases-total-hits-158237\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>But, Pierangelo assured the consulate is working diligently to reschedule the visa applicants that were affected by the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Pierangelo said the consular customer experience is continuously improved on, as Nigerians\u2019 main interaction with the consulate is through the section.<\/p>\n<p>Liliane Hudspeth, the Consular Chief, explained that the new pavilion offers visitors a larger, more comfortable covered waiting area, protection from sun, rain, as well as a great view of the Lagos lagoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have put in place safety measures that not only protect our visa applicants but also consular staff who serve those applicants,\u201d Hudspeth said.<\/p>\n<p>William Bridgeland, the Management Officer, commended the cooperation between the U.S. Consulate Facility Maintenance team and the local Nigerian construction contractor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United States has announced his intentions to continue visa interviews and other consular services in Nigeria.
