{"id":322505,"date":"2024-05-12T08:32:29","date_gmt":"2024-05-12T07:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=322505"},"modified":"2024-05-12T08:32:29","modified_gmt":"2024-05-12T07:32:29","slug":"rivers-crisis-you-cant-remove-lawmakers-with-midnight-court-injunction-wike-tells-fubara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/05\/12\/rivers-crisis-you-cant-remove-lawmakers-with-midnight-court-injunction-wike-tells-fubara\/","title":{"rendered":"Rivers&#8217; crisis: You can&#8217;t remove lawmakers with midnight court injunction, Wike tells Fubara"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>He said he would continue to instil fear in his detractors, make them angry so that they can continue to making mistakes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>FCT minister, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/05\/10\/fubara-not-peacemaker-wants-feud-with-wike-to-continue-ex-rivers-commissioner-adangor\/\">Nyesom Wike<\/a>, has said no member of the Rivers State House of Assembly will be removed with questionable court injunctions.<\/p>\n<p>This is even as he assured the lawmakers loyal to him that nothing will happen to them and their seats in the State Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Wike spoke on Saturday at the grand civic reception held at Ogu-Bolo in honour of Chief George Thompson Sekibo to celebrate his 20 years of service at the National and 36 years of his life in public service.<\/p>\n<p>He said he would continue to instil fear in his detractors, make them angry so that they can continue to making mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they like they can go to anybody by 2am or 4am to get injunction. The law will take its course. We must follow due process,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n<p>Turning to the suspended assembly members, Wike said: \u201cDon\u2019t be afraid, nobody will remove you as a lawmaker. Most of you don\u2019t understand. This is our work. Our business is to make them to fear. That is what I am doing. We will make them to be angry ever everyday and they will continue to make mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you see me I stand straight. I think well. I came with senator Magnus Abe. I work with people that have brains. On politics, when people with brains agree they disagree. Those, who don\u2019t know what to do but said they would bring me down, who born them? They are nowhere. When you are in charge, you are in charge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything will calm down. All these people running around, they would come down. Boma worked for his appointment, he showed loyalty and commitment and that is why God placed him there. Don\u2019t worry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me also advised you, forget about how they abuse us. You must be alive for people to abuse you. If you are dead, will they abuse you? At the appropriate time when the results will be announced, we will know who is who. We have defeated them severally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome.of them ran to Abuja but when I went to Abuja, they ran back here. Have you not seen the way Abuja is moving? No amount of propaganda can help you.
