The former emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, says he has embraced his removal as a divine act.<\/p>\n

The law that exalted and destabilized Kano Emirate has affected five first-class rulers, including the former Emir.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi was deposed as Kano’s Emir in 2019 by former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who also nominated new emirs the following year.<\/p>\n

But after signing<\/strong><\/a> the new law on Thursday, Governor Abba Bichi Yusuf sacked all the emirs appointed by Ganduje, giving them 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the action of the governor in an interview with BBC Hausa, the dethroned monarch said he bore no grudge against anybody.<\/p>\n

He added that he had no plan to challenge the action in court and was read to serve in another capacity if given the opportunity.<\/p>\n
