{"id":324988,"date":"2024-05-28T14:29:21","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T13:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=324988"},"modified":"2024-05-28T14:29:21","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T13:29:21","slug":"bayelsa-guber-sylva-heads-to-appeal-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/05\/28\/bayelsa-guber-sylva-heads-to-appeal-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Bayelsa Guber: Sylva heads to Appeal Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Sylva had accused the tribunal of bias following several infractions observed by his lawyers during the hearing of the case<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State and former Minister of State, Petroleum, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2023\/11\/11\/breaking-he-has-been-a-violent-person-bayelsa-gov-slams-apcs-slyva-after-voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chief Timipre Sylva<\/a>, has expressed dissatisfaction with Monday\u2019s Bayelsa Governorship Election Tribunal judgment.<\/p>\n<p>Sylva in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Julius Bokoru, stated that Sylva immediately held a meeting with elders and stakeholders of the party after the judgement.<\/p>\n<p>Following the meeting, the former Governor of Bayelsa directed his legal team to immediately seek justice at the Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the judgement, Sylva had accused the tribunal of bias following several infractions observed by his lawyers during the hearing of the case.<\/p>\n<p>He subsequently filed an interlocutory appeal demanding the dissolution of the panel and reconstitution of a new one.<\/p>\n<p>Sylva said: \u201cWe are not satisfied with the decision of the tribunal.
