{"id":325044,"date":"2024-05-28T18:40:18","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T17:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=325044"},"modified":"2024-05-28T18:40:18","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T17:40:18","slug":"court-restrains-dss-police-army-from-ejecting-arresting-emir-of-kano-sanusi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/05\/28\/court-restrains-dss-police-army-from-ejecting-arresting-emir-of-kano-sanusi\/","title":{"rendered":"Court restrains DSS, Police, Army from ejecting, arresting Emir of Kano, Sanusi"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu-led court gave the interim injunction while ruling on a suit filed by the emir alongside the four kingmakers of Kano<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>As the scramble for the ascension to the throne in Kano rages on, security operatives have been restrained from evicting the newly reinstated Emir <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/05\/28\/royal-rumble-gov-yusuf-given-48-hours-to-remove-sanusi-reinstate-bayero-as-emir\/\">Muhammadu Sanusi<\/a> II.<\/p>\n<p>The Police, the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigerian military are barred from ejecting the monarch from the palace by a Kano State High Court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu-led court gave the interim injunction while ruling on a suit filed by the emir alongside the four kingmakers of Kano: Madakin Kano Yusuf Nabahani; Makaman Kano Ibrahim Sarki Abdullahi; Sarkin Bai Mansur Adnan and Sarkin Dawaki Maituta Bello Tuta.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Aliyu also refrained the security agencies from arresting or harassing Sanusi and his kingmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Ruling, Justice Aliyu held \u201cthat an order of interim injunction is hereby granted restraining the Respondents either by themselves, their agents, privies, representative, and assigns from further harassing, intimidating, inviting, arresting and or invading the personal or official residence of the Applicants (Gidan Rumfa), his servants and or any of the Kano Emirate kingmakers of doing such acts that would be capable of interfering with the Applicants\u2019 rights generally in relation to this suit pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat an order of interim injunction is hereby granted restraining the Respondents from attempting to hijack, pick, commandeer, confiscate any of twin spear of authority, the Royal Hat of Dabo, the Ostrich-feathered shoes, the knife and sword of the Emir of Kano as well as symbols of authority pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat an order of interim injunction is hereby made restraining the Respondents from taking further steps in connection with the matter or maintaining status quo of staying all action pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat it is further ordered that the Respondents are restrained from interfering with the functions, and duties of the 1\u2033 Applicant as the Emir of Kano pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice dated 28 May, 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aliyu also adjourned the motion on notice to June 13, 2024, for hearing<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu-led court gave the interim injunction while ruling on a suit filed by the emir alongside the four kingmakers of Kano As the scramble for the ascension to the throne in Kano rages on, security operatives have been restrained from evicting the newly reinstated Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.
