{"id":326461,"date":"2024-06-08T21:13:54","date_gmt":"2024-06-08T20:13:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=326461"},"modified":"2024-06-08T21:13:54","modified_gmt":"2024-06-08T20:13:54","slug":"tinubu-ive-mandate-to-deliver-quality-life-im-still-reforming-financial-system-to-bring-relief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/06\/08\/tinubu-ive-mandate-to-deliver-quality-life-im-still-reforming-financial-system-to-bring-relief\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinubu: I\u2019ve Mandate To Deliver Quality Life | I\u2019m Still Reforming Financial System To Bring Relief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration\u2019s commitment to restructuring Nigeria\u2019s financial system to alleviate hardship and improve the quality of life for citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu spoke during the inauguration of the Guzape District Lot II road project in Abuja on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are still retooling and rejigging our financial system to bring prosperity and relief to the people of this country,\u201d Tinubu stated.<\/p>\n<p>The president commended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/06\/08\/amaechi-i-wont-take-sides-in-fubara-wike-political-feud\/\"><strong>Nyesom Wike<\/strong><\/a>, the FCT Minister, for exceptional leadership amidst challenging times, saying he has built a team and delivered on promises.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu urged residents of Guzape and stakeholders to embrace dialogue and compensation rather than litigation against the people-focused projects of his administration.<\/p>\n<p>According to the president, his drive to provide infrastructure nationwide stems from a mandate to uplift the quality of life and not self-enrichment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf what value is a swathe of land that is blocked by hills and rocks, and that is inaccessible. Let us talk to our people and come together to help build Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI stand here as President; I do not have a plot of land here (Guzape District). But I have the people\u2019s support and the mandate to deliver good quality of life and a living environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat should be enough for all of us to share in the joy of commitment, dedication, perseverance, and the little gifts God has endowed us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Wike said that the 32km road project, initially awarded for N14bn in 2003, had been revised to N18.17bn.<\/p>\n<p>He lauded Tinubu for not abandoning the project as government is a continuum and for granting his ministry a free hand to work.<\/p>\n<p>Wike also appealed for major roads in the district to be named after literary icons Chinua Achebe and J.P. Clark, adding that the \u2018diplomatic area\u2019 would be completed within a year.<\/p>\n<p>The FCDA Executive Secretary, Engr.
