{"id":327275,"date":"2024-06-15T10:20:01","date_gmt":"2024-06-15T09:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=327275"},"modified":"2024-06-15T10:20:01","modified_gmt":"2024-06-15T09:20:01","slug":"why-i-ventured-into-human-skulls-sale-business-suspected-ritualist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/06\/15\/why-i-ventured-into-human-skulls-sale-business-suspected-ritualist\/","title":{"rendered":"Why I ventured into human skulls sale business \u2014 Suspected ritualist"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Adinohi made the disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen when he was paraded by the state police command in Akure on Friday<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>One Yusuf Adinohi, a suspected ritualist, has revealed why he delved into the diabolical business of selling human skulls.<\/p>\n<p>37-year-old Adinohi, who was arrested last week by police detectives in Ondo state, disclosed that he ventured into the heinous endeavour to take care of his ailing mother who is hospitalised in Lokoja and N2 million is needed for her treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Adinohi made the disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen when he was paraded by the state police command in Akure on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He was apprehended in Isua-Akoko area of Ondo state for being in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/06\/12\/police-arrest-31-year-old-man-with-human-skulls-in-ondo\/\">possession of eight human skulls.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He was said to be coming from Okene in Kogi State and heading to Osogbo in Osun state when he was arrested by security officers at about 11 am at Agbasi Locust checkpoint in Ase area of Isua Akoko, Ondo state.<\/p>\n<p>A team of security operatives in the state, reportedly flagged a commercial vehicle marked, LKJ 148 AJ, driven by one Kabiru Abubakar with four passengers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon investigation, the suspect admitted being the owner of the eight dry skulls and said that he was going to Osogbo to deliver the human skulls to another herbalist.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect reportedly named his customers who buy the human skulls from him and their locations<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with newsmen, at the police headquarters in Akure, the suspect confessed that he has sold seven human skulls at N35,000 each and has made N245,000 from the illicit business.<\/p>\n<p>According to him \u201c This will be my third time in this business. On the first trip, I sold four, the second time, I sold three and this latest one eight human skulls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the skull, I usually buy it from my friend, Ismaila who usually gets them from burial grounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore I ventured into this business, I was buying and selling palm oil and cashew nuts, but it was not fetching me much money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mother has been sick, we took her to one hospital in Lokoja and the doctor said we need N2 million for her treatment. So I had no choice but to venture into skull business. My intention was to leave the business once I gathered the money to settle my mother\u2019s medical bills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, from the seven that I had sold, I\u2019ve made N245,000. I actually sold them to different people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI met the buyers on Facebook. He told me that he\u2019s a herbalist.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking, the state police commissioner, Abayomi Oladipo, said that the suspect was apprehended during stop and search security operations at Isua Akoko.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect further confessed that the human skulls were usually handed over to him by one, Imaila living at Oboroke in Okene, and that each head is being sold for between N30,000 and N35,000.<\/p>\n<p>Oladipo said the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID for further
